"From Challenges to Achievements:
A Story of Determination"
I am a girl born into a middle-caste family. I have one younger sister .
My father does not go to work because he is suffering from an illness. My mother goes to work and takes care of our family.
Even though we belong to a middle-caste background, my mother still made sure that we studied in a private school.
Many people advised my mother, saying, "Why do you want to send your children to a private school? You can enroll them in a government school. They are girls, after all, and will eventually go to another house after their marriage."
But my mother didn’t listen to them. She made sure we stayed in school until we completed our education.
After completing my schooling, I began to understand my family’s situation better. With that in mind, I decided to join a government college to ease the financial burden on my mother.
It was there that I truly got the chance to show my talent. I worked hard and became the president of the college. I also earned the title of the overall topper in the Arts department.
Most importantly, I proved to my mother that her sacrifices had not been in vain. I made her proud, and that was the greatest reward of all.
After completing college, I started working as a kindergarten teacher at a school. My salary was just 6,000 rupees, but I knew it was a starting point. Despite the challenges, I continued to push forward. I also enrolled in a distance learning program to pursue my post-graduation while balancing my job.
Now, I am a teacher, and I help many people who are struggling to improve their lives, just as I once did. The same people who had once advised my mother are now surprised by what I’ve achieved. I’ve proven that no matter where you come from, with determination and hard work, you can rise above your circumstances. And above all, I have kept my mother’s dreams alive, showing her that everything she did for us was worth it.
