CONCEPT :

The Mughal Empire was a powerful dynasty that ruled much of India with a strong administration and military.

This lesson explains how they rose to power, governed the empire, and how their rule impacted Indian society and economy.

   OPENING QUESTION :

Who were the Mughals, and where did they come from?

What do you think made it hard to rule a large country like India in the past?

Why do you think some kings succeed in building big empires while others don’t?

Have you heard of the Red Fort or Taj Mahal? Do you know which rulers built them?

Why might people join or fight against an empire like the Mughals?

METHODOLOGY :

     Introduction through storytelling
Begin with a short story about Babur’s journey to India to capture student interest.

REAL LIFE EXAMPLES :

The Red Fort in Delhi is a perfect real-life example of the Mughal Empire’s legacy.

Every year on Independence Day (15th August), the Prime Minister of India addresses the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort, which was once the main residence of the Mughal emperors.

This shows how Mughal architecture and political traditions still influence modern India, even though the empire ended centuries ago.
